Adelaide’s Highest Residences Approved

Realm_Austin_Exterior_002_620x380

Adelaide’s skyline will rise to new heights with the approval of the Elenberg Fraser-designed building Realm Adelaide.

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure this week approved Realm Adelaide to rise 132 metres and span 40 levels.

Realm in fact took out the honour for the city’s highest homes.

The apartment building will boast Adelaide’s most luxurious multi-level residences, including two penthouses located across two storeys on levels 38 and 39.

Featuring 320 one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, Realm Adelaide aims to bring the first five-star hotel-like living experience to the city through its exemplary interior design and two levels of planned resident amenity, including rooftop spa and wellness facility.

The tower is planned above the existing Renaissance Arcade and will revive Assay House, built in 1858, by restoring the façade and potentially creating a bar and restaurant in the historic building.

Elenberg Fraser Founder Callum Fraser said Realm Adelaide’s approval was an exciting moment for the city, which had long pursued exemplar design.

“The approval of Adelaide’s tallest building, Realm Adelaide, is a milestone in the evolution of this city and its continual transformation,” he said.

“Its golden geometric form will stand out on the Adelaide skyline, creating a strong architectural statement in the city.

“Realm Adelaide will change apartment living as Adelaide residents know it, offering a lifestyle that hasn’t previously been available in the apartment sector here.”

Elenberg Fraser assembled a team of former Adelaide locals now designing some of Australia’s most exciting buildings to design Realm Adelaide.

Its golden tones are in tribute to Assay House’s past as the location where lucky gold rush prospectors took their gold to be weighed and melted into the Adelaide Pound, which made the city the first British colony to issue its own coins.

Luxury apartments in Realm Adelaide will go on sale in February, with interested purchasers encouraged to register their interest now.

Realm Adelaide is being developed by a private Sydney developer with family links to Adelaide.

Construction will commence in mid 2017 and completion is anticipated by 2020.
