In his final Budget before an election due by March 2027, and amid a global economy upended by the Iran conflict, NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey (pictured top, right) has kept the spotlight on cost-of-living and commuters, “with help to begin at the bowser”.

In the background, Treasury figures reveal economic growth powered by private sector activity, and a relatively subdued growth in government spending, despite ongoing turmoil from the Iran conflict.
