Mirvac To Relocate To 200 George Street

1

Mirvac Group has announced it will be relocating its Sydney head office to its new premium grade landmark tower at 200 George Street, Sydney from mid-2016.

Mirvac will occupy 5,680 square metres across five floors of the tower and has committed to a ten year lease.

Mirvac's CEO and Managing Director Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz said that the move reflected Mirvac's commitment to fostering a collaborative and high performing workplace culture.

"Our motivation for change was to create an environment to support our people to work more effectively and collaboratively. Our employees are our greatest asset and we wanted to provide them with a workplace and the tools that they need to perform at their best.""We have spent a considerable amount of time consulting with all employees and conducting aspirational workshops. This process was managed by our in-house Corporate Solutions team and led to enthusiastic engagement and the creation of our design brief tailored for the way Mirvac works."

"Space in 200 George Street has been expertly designed to promote high levels of interaction and information sharing. Similar to our award winning 8 Chifley office tower, floors at 200 George Street will be linked via a central atrium to create a vertically connected light-filled environment that supports flexibility, teamwork, collaboration and communication.""Furthermore, the environment will reflect our corporate sustainability commitment through design and material selection and provide smarter building and workplace technologies."[urbanRelatedPost][/urbanRelatedPost]"200 George Street is the perfect canvas for Mirvac to showcase our ability to deliver an integrated real estate solution, that can generate cost and operating efficiencies," Ms Lloyd-Hurwitz said.

The premium grade 200 George Street will comprise a 37-storey commercial office tower of approximately 38,700 square metres and is due for completion early next year. Designed by architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp, the tower embraces best practice innovation and technology, and it will also be one of Australia's most environmentally advanced and sustainable buildings.

Having achieved a 6 Star Green Star - Office 'Design' (v3) rating and targeting a 6 Star Green Star - Office 'As Built' (v3) rating, together with a minimum 5 Star NABERS Energy rating, 200 George represents 'Australian excellence' in environmental sustainability practices.

In total, the building is now 81 per cent pre-leased following EY's commitment to occupy 25,760 square metres of office space for a 10-year term, commencing January 2017.

200 George Street is owned jointly by Mirvac Property Trust and the AMP Capital Wholesale Office Fund.
