Melbourne Skyscraper Tops Out Ahead Of Schedule

Screen-Shot-2017-05-30-at-3

Empire Melbourne has topped out several months ahead of schedule, with the tower's final level completed last week.

The building at 398 Elizabeth Street will include 487 residential apartments, two retail tenancies and a gym, with a total of 87 car parks for the development.

Probuild Managing Director Luke Stambolis credits the 62-storey tower’s speed of completion to the company’s innovative construction techniques.

“The innovation at Empire has accelerated usual fitout timelines achieved with traditional building techniques,” said Mr Stambolis.

“By implementing Probuild Construction Systems we’ve been able to make the most of every opportunity and exceed our client’s expectations.”

“I’m extremely proud of our people working at Empire. At Probuild we hire the industry’s best and they’ve delivered the best for our client, Mammoth Empire.”

Delivered under a design and construct contract for Mammoth Empire, construction is anticipated to be completed months ahead of program. This is the second project Probuild has collaborated with PDS Group and Mammoth on, since completing iconic residential tower MY80 in Melbourne’s CBD in 2014.

Andrew Fortey, CEO of PDS Group, the Project Manager for Mammoth Empire’s developments in Australia says “We’re delighted to have reached this milestone and thank our partners, particularly Probuild, for getting us to this stage ahead of schedule”

“Mammoth and PDS Group have partnered successfully in the past, with MY80 (across the road) finishing in 2014 and we look forward to Empire receiving its first residents later this year”

“Mammoth and PDS Group wish to thank our partners for their innovation and hard work to date”

Probuild will hand over 348 apartments and all common areas to Mammoth Empire on 31 July 2017, enabling early settlements, with the remaining 139 apartments due for completion in September 2017.

Construction commenced in February 2015 and was originally scheduled for completion in December 2017.
