Urbanity 24: Riverlee’s Clement Lee in Conversation

Urbanity cityshaper HERO

The founder and chairman of one of Australia’s most prolific and high-profile developers has been revealed as this year’s Urbanity Cityshaper.

He is Clement Lee, founder and chairman of Riverlee, who at this year’s Urbanity conference will be the focus of an In Conversation session with The Urban Developer chief executive Adam Di Marco to discuss his vision and the future of urban development.

During its history, Urbanity has brought together some of the most highly valued and knowledgeable city shapers of the Asia-Pacific region, including Bert Dennis and the late Lang Walker.

Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to hear from the man behind one of Australia’s largest and most active residential and mixed-use developers.

Background: Since founding Riverlee in 1993, Lee has led the company with a commitment to visionary urban development that integrates community needs with innovative design. His extensive career spans more than four decades and several continents, reflecting a deep-seated expertise in architecture, town planning, and property development.

Company focus: Riverlee, under his leadership, is renowned for its award-winning urban developments and its developer and asset owner framework.

“We are inspired by challenging sites and the ability to unlock underutilised land, test new ideas and push the boundaries of urban renewal and regeneration,” Lee said.

Notable contributions: Lee’s work is driven by a philosophy that combines rigorous research with creative design solutions, aiming to leave a positive legacy through each development.

His contributions to the industry and community have been recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia, underscoring his impact on architecture and philanthropy.

Key milestone projects under Clement’s leadership include the $550-million Seafarers development in Melbourne (pictured above), which features the city’s first international hotel-branded residences and a new public park along the Yarra River.
