Traders in Purple Picks up Second Wollstonecraft Site

National development and construction group Traders in Purple has put its foot on another site in Sydney’s Lower North Shore.

The 4200sq m site at 53–77 Sinclair Street, Wollstonecraft, comprises 14 individual homes. Traders in Purple paid $71 million for the amalgamated holding.

The developer said it was preparing a development application for 75 premium two and three-bedroom apartments, which it expected to file within months.

The acquisition is the second at Wollstonecraft by Traders in Purple in less than a year.

In April 2025, the developer secured a 3012sq m site at 8–24 Nicholson Street, and has filed plans for a $260-million, 12-storey luxury project of 78 apartments.

Both sites are within the Crows Nest Transport Oriented Development precinct near the Metro station, which opened in 2024 and provides direct access to Sydney’s CBD.

The Sinclair Street transaction has gone unconditional and was brokered by JLL joint head of metropolitan sales and investments NSW Gordon McFadyen, after more than 18 months of negotiations with individual homeowners to bring the site to market as a single collective.

Traders in Purple executive director George Geagea said the acquisition aligned with the group’s focus on delivering owner-occupier apartments in well-connected, established locations.

Geagea said the purchase lifted the developer’s national development pipeline to more than $6 billion.

He said the project contrasted with surrounding developments that typically featured more than 200 apartments.

▲ The site at Wollstonecraft is seven minutes by Metro from the heart of the Sydney CBD.

Wollstonecraft had become increasingly desirable following the opening of the Crows Nest Metro, which connected the suburb to Barangaroo in five minutes and Martin Place in seven, Geagea said.

“Demand for the suburb continues to grow and both our planned projects are designed to meet strong interest from downsizers, professionals and families,” Geagea said.

JLL’s McFadyen said Wollstonecraft’s transformation had been driven by the announcement of the Crows Nest Metro more than a decade ago.

He said the improved transport connectivity encouraged the 14 homeowners to collaborate on a collective sale.

Traders in Purple is among Australia’s most active luxury residential developers, with projects across New South Wales and Queensland.

Its Queensland portfolio includes Rivara at Brisbane’s West End, as well as Lighthouse and Tydal on the Moreton Bay Peninsula.
