Student Switch Mooted for Adelaide Tourist Tower
An Adelaide developer will this week learn the fate of its bid to convert an approval for a CBD hotel tower to a modular 572-bed student housing facility that its project director says is a first for South Australia.
The hotel building and an adjacent residential tower planned by the developer, Auta Group, for a 2112sq m block at 108 to 112A Franklin Street were approved in November 2024.
Now Auta Group is seeking a variation that would allow for a 24-floor student accommodation tower to be approved in lieu of the hotel building.
