Stage Two Of Townsville's $145m Development Sells Out

J

Impressive sales from stage two of the $145 million Riverway development at Thuringowa, Townsville has prompted the Honeycombes Property Group to plan the next stage of the development.

All 28 apartments within the Jacana II apartment complex sold out for $10 million before its recent completion.

The soon to be 26 hectare development is located on a previously unused riverfront site and boasts parkland views and a cultural precinct, with nearby shopping centres, cinema complex and restaurants.

Managing Director of Honeycombes Property Group, Peter Honeycombe told news.com.au the positive buying feedback had prompted the group to lay plans for the third stage of development.

“With the first stages complete, buyers are seeing Riverway come to life and that is cementing their desire to buy here,” Mr Honeycombe said.

“We’ve found that owner-occupiers and investors are drawn to the riverfront location and our vision of a lifestyle hub encapsulating entertainment, culture, recreation and retail.”

The new stage of development will include three bedroom apartments aimed at owner-occupiers.

Mr Honeycombe said the sellout of the Jacana II would help shape the third stage of the Ross River-Fronting project.

“We have listened to the community and the response, particularly from prospective owner-occupiers, was that they wanted a three-bedroom option, so we are looking to deliver that in the next stage,” Mr Honeycombe said.

Upon completion the precinct will include 264 apartments with convention facilities, an amphitheater, art gallery, swimming lagoons and sporting grounds with hiking and biking pathways.
