Runway’s Siting Tool Solves Niche Property Problem

Software is revolutionising the home builder and developer business model. While large enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics are being deployed to manage back-office functions, a Melbourne software company --

switched-on group, through their Runway and Pipeline cloud software is providing innovative sales and marketing software solutions that are driving productivity front of house.

Home builders and developers are increasingly opting for external software solutions to cater to their unique property functions and processes. The change in mindset is driven by the realisation that building proprietary software in-house has become increasingly costly, complex and a distraction from core property operations.

Runway software, such as lot and house plan data and plans, and automatically sites the house taking into consideration estate covenant and rescode. At the same time, it creates a 3D envelope ensuring the house fits within the 3D profile. The siting tool uses a standard modern web browser without any plug-in or extensions and can be used on any device such as an iPad. The output can be converted to a PDF, incorporated into a brochure or attached to a quotation.

The smarts come from the tight integration with Runway’s Property Manager. This houses all the lot and house plans, dimensions and covenant rules, often integrated with ERP solution. The Runway software leverages property assets across many functions, creating a multiplier productivity effect. The same assets are used in house and land packages, PDFs, emails, property portals like realestate.com.au, websites, in quotes, masterplans and in switched-on property portal, Pipeline.

Runway are leading the way creating tightly integrated property niche solutions, filling a much needed gap between the big software providers and a waning desire to develop solutions in house.
