Billionaire Racing Titan’s Gold Coast Twin Towers Out of The Gates

Billionaire horse racing titan John Camilleri’s Celestino Developments has been given the green light for a landmark twin-tower project spanning a sprawling 4000sq m beachfront site along the Gold Coast dunal strip.
Comprising two sculptural towers—rising 48 and 55 storeys—accommodating 275 apartments, it will be the city’s first absolute beachfront project of scale since the nearby triple-tower Jewel development was completed in 2020.
Under the scheme designed by architecture firm DBI, the towers will be linked at levels 45 and 47 by skybridges.
According to the documents, the skybridges are designed to “foster community at height” and will feature “exclusive VIP amenities and wellness amenities”—including executive lounges, formal dining as well as private terrace areas.
“The proposed skybridge features harken to internationally renowned architecture such as the Petronas Towers of Kuala Lumpur, Za’abeel of Dubai, Raffles City or Marina Bay Sands of Singapore…[and] will deliver a unique addition to the skyline,” the application said.
The approval comes just five months after the proposal was lodged with the City of Gold Coast.
Overall, the towers will house a mix of luxury two, three and four-bedroom apartments—127 units in the larger northern tower and 148 in the southern tower.

Topping its shared five-storey podium will be an expansive landscaped communal recreational area with resident lounges, private dining rooms, gym, a large open green lawn and 90m-plus pool stretching the entire eastern edge facing the beach as well as plunge pools, wellness rooms and yoga lawn.
On the ground level, a series of food and beverage tenancies are planned “to contribute to the vibrancy of the beachfront promenade”.
The dual tower development will occupy five holdings spanning 3983sq m at 63-79 Garfield Terrace, just up the road from the Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club.
Camilleri—who heads up the Baiada Poultry empire and is the breeder of legendary racehorse Winx—and business partner George Tsekouras secured the site in a handful of deals totalling about $125 million.
Meanwhile, nearby at 43 Garfield Terrace, Sydney-based Sammut Group has topped out its 38-level, 54-apartment tower known as Coast.
It has been developed in partnership with investment firm Alceon Group and delivered by Multiplex.
