Australia’s construction sector is running out of workers faster than it can replace them.
Infrastructure Australia’s latest pipeline report projects a 300,000-worker shortfall by mid-2027, against a record $242 billion in major projects scheduled for the next five years.
The current gap already stands at 141,000—and the workforce needs to more than double to meet peak demand.
