Brisbane Airport Corporation Secures New Tenant

Haymans Electrical is set to move in to a new multi million warehouse and office development at Brisbane Airport.

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC)’s property division, BNE Property, developed the purpose-built 5,600m2 facility for Haymans Electrical in the airport’s key industrial precinct, Export Park.

BAC General Manager Commercial Businesses John Tormey said the ARTAS-designed office and warehouse took 11 months for Tomkins Commercial Builders to complete.

“We are very pleased to welcome Haymans Electrical to the Brisbane Airport precinct,” Mr Tormey said.

“The airport’s size, access and amenity are continuing to attract great non-aviation commercial and industrial businesses, and Haymans is testament to this,” he said.

Mr Tormey said the new development showed the airport’s capability to deliver flexible, purpose-built solutions.

“We’ve been working closely with the Haymans team to deliver a high-quality, office and warehouse space that suits their specific requirements,” he said.

“We are able to offer our clients a one-stop-shop from planning through to construction project management and ongoing property management, which is always appealing.”

Haymans Electrical is part of MM Electrical Merchandising (MMEM); a private, family owned electrical wholesaler, with over 250 service centres throughout Australia.

Haymans General Manger South Queensland Stuart Gallard said the premises will be the flagship of all facilities nationwide and will be the largest electrical wholesale branch in Australia.

“With the excellent road and tunnel access to all of Brisbane and the coasts, this site was the obvious location for us to set up our new facility,” Mr Gallard said.

“Our substantial stockholding, parking for 70 plus vehicles and ease of access will ensure our customer service will be second to none,” he said.

“The new innovative customer business lounge with guest Wi-Fi will provide a unique experience for our clients as they shop at our trade sales counter as will our fully set up workshop ready for their off-site needs.”

The new facility is located just minutes from the airport’s main retail and lifestyle hub, Skygate.

“For our staff, having DFO, 24-hour Woolworths, medical, childcare and a driving range just a few minutes away is also very convenient,” Mr Gallard said.

“I think they’ll also enjoy the uninterrupted runway views of the planes taking off – it’s a pretty unique location,” he said.

The airport is already home to more than 420 businesses and 21,000 workers, with this figure expected to grow to around 50,000 by 2029.
