TUD Awards Winner: Development of the Year - Retirement, Aged Care and Seniors Living

The fourth annual The Urban Developer Awards, in association with Trilogy Funds, recognises standout property industry performers from across Australasia.

The awards program is delivered digitally, replacing the previously held black-tie gala dinner with our virtual celebration of content.

Today, we celebrate Development of the Year - Retirement, Aged Care and Seniors Living, proudly presented by Mitchell Brandtman.

This award recognises excellence in the development of projects in the retirement and aged care, independent living, assisted living or seniors living sector.

The finalists for Development of the Year - Retirement, Aged Care and Seniors Living are:

  • Reside Communities - Samford Grove
    GreenFort Capital & Reside Communities

  • Halcyon Greens
    Halcyon

  • McQuoin Park Retirement Living Redevelopment, Wahroonga

  • Capecare Dunsborough
    Gary Batt & Associates Architects

About this project

Set on a 34ha island among wetlands, nature reserves and a golf course, Halcyon Greens is Australia’s largest lifestyle community.

The project includes 522 houses, a revamp of the golf clubhouse and 22 facilities that can cater for up to 800 people.

Set in Pimpama, Queensland, an area not usually known for its retirement living developments, the Halcyon Greens project offers a luxury lifestyle for those aiming to retire in comfort.

Project details

  • Halycon Greens consists of 23 different home designs (two-bedroom plus study; three-bedroom plus study), and an array of customisations from 170.8sqm to 283.5square metre. On completion, there will be 7500 solar panels in the community, with 40 per cent having a Tesla battery.

  • All homes are designed to the Silver Liveable Housing Design Principles to cater for changes in mobility.

  • The facilities offer 22 different functional spaces and the ability to host 40 different activities and interest groups. Facilties are designed to cater for up to 800 people at any given time, which represents 80 per cent of the community's population.
