The Hathaway: Auchenflower's Answer To Modern Living Demand

Velocity Property Group have delivered luxe apartments, penthouses and town homes across 14 residences in the form of their latest development, 'The Hathaway', at Auchenflower on Cadell Street.

The Hathaway was created as a sophisticated solution to the high demand of empty nesters, professionals and young families needing low maintenance, roomy, modern homes in Brisbane’s inner west.

Located just four kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, The Hathaway Apartments and Penthouses all have three bedrooms to complement their open plan living, dining and sophisticated kitchens featuring stone bench tops and Bosch appliances. Most have additional media/multi-purpose rooms or a study/study nook and all have important storage as part of their design.

The three Penthouses on the top floor of The Hathaway are larger in size than the apartments, ranging from 184m 2 to 209m 2 and starting from $1,445,000. They include generous balconies and 2.5 to three bathrooms.

Two of the Penthouses have incredible city views with the third with a northerly aspect toward Mt Coot-tha.

Velocity Property Group Managing Director Brendon Ansell said based on their lifestyle, frequent travel and desire for high quality living spaces that are close to the cafes, restaurants, shopping and conveniences they already love, empty nesters want to downsize into properties that meet strict criteria.

“These properties need to be architecturally designed, well located, feature luxe finishes and be a solid financial investment with strong, long-term growth and The Hathaway delivers all of this across the three penthouses, eight apartments and the three town homes,” he said.

Mr Ansell said with many empty nesters and busy professionals wanting to travel regularly, the design of properties such as The Hathaway needed to include full ‘lock and leave’ security balanced with minimal common areas and no expensive gyms or pools to keep body corporate fees low.

“In essence we give back time to our empty nester buyers who have worked hard their whole life and are now taking time out to enjoy their life and not spend it maintaining a large expensive home and to our busy professional buyers who want to relax when they are home, not maintain large properties,” he said.

The eight Apartments across the ground and first floors range from 120m2 to 162m2 . Priced from $799,000, all have generous and functional balcony spaces or a large courtyard space. In addition the majority of the apartments feature a separate walk-in laundry, a feature rarely found in apartments nowadays.

The exclusive Hathaway Town Homes feature four bedrooms plus a study and spacious open living, dining and kitchen including stone bench tops, Bosch appliances and a servery to the courtyard and barbecue area. They are priced from $1,045,000. All of the residences of The Hathaway benefit from a boutique setting where buyers can get to know their neighbours in their community while maintaining a high degree of privacy.

As specialists in developing apartments and town homes for empty nesters in South-East Queensland, Velocity recognises their need to maintain the living spaces and high quality kitchens and bathrooms they are used to, but downsize the garden and general maintenance of bigger properties that are no longer needed.

This also includes reducing the costs of power where possible using eco-features in the building. Solar power systems at The Hathaway will result in zero common area power costs for residents and a reduction in power costs to the Penthouses and Apartments. Solar systems in the Town Homes will greatly reduce common area costs and for an additional $5,000 upgrade, power storage units will totally negate the power costs in The Hathaway Town Homes.

Amenities at The Hathaway include a bocce green and barbecue area that offer additional community space to the private balconies and courtyards with each property.

Most importantly, according to Mr Ansell, The Hathaway includes a Velocity Property Group concierge service to help buyers with organising their move into the boutique complex, liaise with and manage body corporate and ensure that their lifestyle at The Hathaway is enriched moving forward through this service.

“One of our points of difference is our commitment to our buyer experience and the addition of the concierge service to complement our existing maintenance manager service means that our buyers benefit from our long term value and investment as the developer into their property and lifestyle,” he said.

Being marketed through Ben Wakely and Hannah Bryan of Urban Property and Velocity Property Group, The Hathaway has been discerningly designed to deliver privacy, quality and luxury on one of Auchenflower’s best streets.
