Goldfields Breaks Ground on 650-Lot Shepparton Estate Masterplan

Goldfields has begun civil works at Parkers Grove, its $205-million, 650-lot masterplanned community at Shepparton in regional Victoria.
Greater Shepparton mayor Geoff Akers turned the first sod last week at a ceremony alongside Goldfields representatives and newly appointed civil contractor Winslow.
Approved in March, Parkers Grove is the first residential project to secure a planning permit in the Shepparton South East Precinct Structure Plan.
The 43.35ha former pear orchard at the corner of Channel and McPhees roads, about 2.5km south of central Shepparton, will be subdivided into residential land lots for house-and-land buyers.
Plans include a 1ha central park, natural wetlands and walking paths. Land next to the site has been earmarked for a government school, convenience centre and sporting fields.
Goldfields national director of communities Paul Cicchiello said the project would ease local supply pressure and create hundreds of construction jobs.

Stage 1 is expected to gain property ownership deeds in the third quarter of next year. Sales of the first release began in May. Works under way also include an upgrade to nearby Channel Road to improve traffic flow and safety.
“Parkers Grove reflects Goldfields’ long-term commitment to regional Victoria,” Cicchiello said.
The Shepparton groundbreaking follows two Brisbane construction starts for the Melbourne-based group.
Goldfields’ $280-million office tower at 88 Robertson Street, Fortitude Valley, broke ground this month while construction began on its 131-apartment Quartet tower at Milton in August.
The group is also delivering The Raleigh, a $350-million build-to-rent project at Windsor and is forging ahead with a $100-million Cornerstone retail precinct at Kyneton and a $170-million Richmond tower with Ironside.
