Spread over 278 square kilometers just 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport, DUBAILAND hosts a number of residential, sports, leisure, entertainment and shopping attractions that are either operational or under development.

The Launch

DUBAILAND was launched in October 2003 by Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum with the proposed budget of $64.3billion. The project has been planned and designed by leading experts across a wide spectrum of disciplines and belongs to Tatweer, which is part of Dubai Holding.

However during the world recession DUBAILAND was put on hold and only resumed in mid-2013 with the vision of being completed before Expo 2020. Once it is accomplished it will become the largest collection of theme parks in the world, and one of the most exciting sports complexes in the world showcasing various international tournaments.

Dubai's Sports CityProjects of DUBAILAND
DUBAILAND is a spectacular district that is envisioned to become the world's destination for even the most spoiled tourist. With 45 mega projects and 200 sub projects DUBAILAND is divided into six main zones called worlds:- Attraction and Experiencing world- Sports and Outdoor world- Eco-Tourism world- Themed Leisure and Vacation world- Retail and Entertainment world- DowntownDUBAILAND has already become a unique multifaceted district that caters to everyone. Here one can find cultural entertainment at Global Village, enjoy motor racing events at MotorCity and dive into luxurious but affordable shopping at Dubai Outlet Mall, which attracts over 13 million local and overseas visitors each year.

Living in DUBAILAND
For some guests DUBAILAND will only be a holiday destination, while others can enjoy living in the community. Today over 100 000 families reside in the growing district of DUBAILAND. The district is a highly urbanized residential community equipped with modern life amenities. From lush landscaped Mediterranean style villas, Spanish haciendas, luxurious eco-friendly villas to more simple and affordable apartments, the residential area is set amongst exotic botanical gardens, golf courses and lakes.

The Future
DUBAILAND is constantly under construction with grand plans for more residential areas in the heart of DUBAILAND with the City of Arabia and the Dubai Lifestyle City two future proposals. There are also plans for an 18-hole championship golf course called "The Trump World Golf Club Dubai."The City of Arabia is a proposal retail, residential, commercial and entertainment destination that will consist of luxury apartments, offices, schools, healthcare facilities and waterfront community.

Dubai Lifestyle was inspired by a gated community in Tuscany, Italy and was designed by Beverly Hills designer Tony Ashai. It was officially inaugurated in January 2006 and when completed will offer 68 villas and 120 apartments operated by JW Marriott Residences.

The Trump World Golf Club Dubai, designed by Tiger Woods, will be built by DAMAC Properties together with Trump Organization. It will include an 18-hole championship golf course, a clubhouse, world-class restaurant, pro shop and will be situated at the heart of the 55 million square feet AKOYA Oxygen development. It is scheduled to be opened at the end of 2017.

DUBAILAND is a vivid example of Dubai's vision for the future to attract not just millions of tourists but residents offering them a world-class experience. It is a showcase of the sheer scale of Dubai’s vision.
