Sirona Signs Built for $170m PBSA Tower at Perth City Link

Western Australian developer Sirona Urban has appointed Tier 1 builder Built to deliver its $170 million student accommodation tower in Perth’s City Link precinct.
DevelopmentWA approved the 33-level project last month, clearing the way for construction to start in the second half of this year. The tower is scheduled to open in 2029.
Sirona Urban managing director Matthew McNeilly said the tower would deliver a high-quality living environment for students in a precinct with easy public transport access to Perth’s major universities.
“This approval also enables us to smoothly transition from our recently completed UniLodge Perth Central project at 325 Wellington Street to developing our second premium student accommodation facility, adding momentum [toward] turning Perth City Link into a real urban precinct,” he said.
The new project is the second collaboration between Built and Sirona, following the delivery of UniLodge Perth Central.
Built WA director Jon Stone said delivering student accommodation required a tailored approach that included accelerated programs, optimised sequencing, and designs aligned to contemporary student living.

Designed by MJA Studio, the 854-bed tower will transform a long-vacant CBD site on Telethon Avenue, which is within walking distance of the new main campus of Edith Cowan University.
The ground floor will host four car bays for service provision, four motorcycle bays, 120 bicycle bays, a car bay for people living with a disability, and no car bays for residents.
Level 1 will accommodate a reception, laundry, kitchen, gym and outdoor terraces. A lower-ground level will accommodate two tenancies for a shop, cafe or restaurant.
At the time Sirona Urban filed its development application, the site was owned by Seven Entertainment, long run by the family of which billionaire Kerry Stokes is patriarch. Sirona bought the block in March 2025.
By sinking the Fremantle railway line, the massive Perth City Link project joined the Perth CBD to the party precinct of Northbridge for the first time in 100 years.
