Shayher Group, owned by Taiwanese conglomerate Pau Jarhas, has awarded a $200 million-plus construction contract to Brookfield Multiplex for its $1 billion W complex in Brisbane’s CBD, according to The Australian.
Shayher Group general manager Peter Sia told The Australian the contract covered the first stage of construction of the tower on the old Brisbane Supreme Court House site at 300 George Street.
The project will include a a 305-room hotel and a residential apartment complex.
Under the contract, Brookfield Multiplex will construct a a 31-level hotel with a four-level podium and a seven-storey basement that has parking for more than 900 vehicles.

Mr Sia told The Australian he was yet to let the fitout component for the hotel, which he planned to complete for the Commonwealth Games in April 2018.
He said the Shayher Group was looking for more development opportunities in Queensland, apart from its other Brisbane project, the recently completed $250m four-building apartment project, The Hamilton.
