An application to downsize an approved $34-million apartment project at Sydney’s Bellevue Hills has been refused by the Woollahra Local Planning Panel on the grounds of non-compliance with a host of controls.

The Urban Developer can reveal that companies associated with the proponent are controlled by members of the McGuigan family, including former Krispy Kreme investor and chairman John.

John McGuigan and his son James were among the respondents in Federal Court proceedings brought by the ACCC over alleged cartel conduct involving coal exploration licences.
