Willoughby Green targets empty nesters on Sydney's North Shore

Set upon intricately landscaped grounds with views of the city and nearby Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park,

Willoughby Green

is the latest boutique residential project in Sydney’s coveted North Shore.

Living up to its name, the two-building development is adjacent to the vast green expanses of the Willoughby bowling green, and will offer just 43 contemporary one, two and three bedroom residences.

Each residence will feature an abundance of natural light, storage and parking, along with all the trimmings of North Shore living.

Located on Penshurst Street, the development is within walking distance to local village shops, with easy access to neighbouring Crow’s Nest, Chatswood and the Sydney CBD and nearby private and public schools.

Each residence’s naturally inspired design provides spacious living areas, large open plan gourmet kitchens with Caesarstone bench tops, reverse cycle air conditioning, private courtyards, walk-in-wardrobes, and sliding doors that can be stacked away to maximise space.

Willoughby Green also boasts natural design features such as timber veneers, pure wool carpet in the living areas and bedrooms, as well as floor-to-ceiling glass doors onto outdoor terraces designed to welcome the Eastern or Northern sun to ensure natural thermal regulation.

The project also offers residents direct bus routes in all directions and direct access to the freeway.

Rodney Hills of Property Development Corporation, the developer behind the project, says that Willoughby Green is aimed at empty-nesters seeking to downsize.

''We've up-scaled these apartments for the empty-nester market,'' Mr. Hills said.

''They're bigger than normal and we've had a focus on storage and quality.

''The kitchens aren't 20-millimetre laminate bench tops; they're stone with veneer and everything is polyurethane to appeal to that market.

''It probably costs us an extra $15,000-$20,000 an apartment but the downsizers have an eye for design and they want to really live in an apartment, not just exist.''

Due for completion in August next year, Willoughby Green is currently selling off the plan through

CBRE Residential, with one bedroom apartments from $535,000, two bedrooms from $775,000 and three bedroom residences from $975,000.
