Plans Filed for Two Taverns in WA’s Oldest and ‘Booming’ Wine Region

A hotelier and a brewer have independently filed plans to convert the cellar door of a defunct winery into a tavern and upgrade a microbrewery in the Swan Valley wine region of north-western Perth.

At the Swan Valley locale of Henley Brook, Perth hotelier ARK Group has filed a proposal to convert the former Black Swan Winery into a high-end tavern.

ARK bought the 3.6ha site of the winery at 8600 West Swan Road in 2024. For 20 years before that, before closing shop, the winery had produced easy-drinking cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and chardonnay.
