Renewal SA has begun an affordable project in Adelaide’s western suburbs as the government land development agency appoints a permanent chief executive who had been acting in the role for 11 months.

Shane Wingard (pictured) will now head the state agency after acting in the role since former chief executive Chris Menz departed in September last year.

Wingard first joined Renewal SA in 2006. He led projects including the urban renewal of the inner western suburb of Bowden during a nine-year tenure before he returned in 2017 after a short stint in the private sector.
