Poly Centre Leads the Transformation of Sydney’s Circular Quay

6eaaafe0-a0c6-4df3-b43f-03d6a2ed9e91

One glance at Circular Quay right now and you would be forgiven for mistaking the precinct for a major construction zone.

The iconic precinct is currently undergoing a new wave of development, and along with the NSW government’s $200 million funding to upgrade the ferry wharves and the construction of the light rail, a number of top tier developers are set to give Circular Quay a major facelift with brand new state of the art towers and entertainment spaces.

At various stages of planning and construction, the new Circular Quay will see the addition of commercial, residential, hotel and transport sites developed, including AMP Capital’s Quay Quarter Tower and Lendlease’s Circular Quay Tower – expected to transform the way Sydneysiders work, live and play.

Proud to be contributing to the upgrade of one of the world’s most iconic destinations is Poly Australia who will deliver their first Australian commercial development, Poly Centre Sydney at 210 George Street.

Proud to be contributing to the upgrade of one of the world’s most iconic destinations is Poly Australia who will deliver their first Australian commercial development, Poly Centre Sydney at 210 George Street.

International architecture firm Grimshaw won the City of Sydney design excellence competition and envisioned the building with wellbeing and connectivity at the heart of the design.

The design of each floor plate allows for maximum flow, with dual level tenancies featuring internal stairs to a mezzanine style level to encourage movement.

Double height windows have been designed to maximise natural light, while balconies will offer tenants an oasis where they can take a break while remaining connected to the outside world.

Poly Australia asset manager Velimir Kanazir said the team here in Australia has drawn on the extensive capability and experience of parent company, Poly Real Estate who have already delivered an impressive portfolio of commercial developments internationally.

“Our company has worked with some of the world’s most renowned firms for many years across all stages of development when delivering some of our most iconic buildings internationally,” he said.

“Leading up to delivering our very first commercial office building in Australia, we’ve definitely been inspired by some of the more iconic developments such as the ‘Diamond Lantern’ Poly International Plaza Beijing, the brand new Poly Skyline Tower in Guangzhou, operated by five-star international hotel chain the Intercontinental Group, and the impressive Poly Group headquarters designed by SOM, New Poly Plaza in Beijing.”

Kanazir added that the Poly Australia team has been excited to bring their global expertise in delivering world class commercial buildings to Sydney.

“Already, we are following the same formula, teaming up with some impressive firms to deliver Poly Centre Sydney. Internationally renowned architecture firm Grimshaw are responsible for the design, while one of Australia’s leading builders in Watpac has been engaged for early involvement in the construction planning phase.”

Poly Centre Sydney will sit amongst the designer skyline set to grace Circular Quay against a backdrop of vibrant public spaces and laneways, with world class cafes, restaurants and bars, aiming to deliver a unique experience to the modern day office worker.

Much like the tenant mix attracted to Poly Real Estate’s many commercial office buildings internationally, Poly Centre Sydney has been designed to appeal to a range of businesses, from innovative new startup companies, to established global brands – those who share the same outlook – healthy and happy employees are proactive and engaged employees.

Ideally located in the heart of George Street, Poly Centre Sydney will deliver easy access to all that the brand new Circular Quay precinct will have to offer, including Sydney’s new transport facilities in the metro, light rail and ferry wharves, and an office environment designed with connectivity at its core.

The building itself will boast large double height windows, with mezzanine style floors designed to let in an abundance of light.

Internal staircases will encourage movement, while spacious balconies will offer workers the perfect space to relax and unwind, while they look out over the new Circular Quay district below.
