Off-The-Plan Apartments Now A Virtuality Reality On Realestate.com.au

realestate.com.au, together with technology company Scann3d and property developer BPM, are revolutionising the way home buyers view property developments, with the launch of what is believed to be the world's first self-guided 3D walk-through for a yet-to-be-built apartment development on the internet.

With off-the-plan development approval and construction activity increasing in Australia to meet consumer demand, this new technology will enable home hunters to take virtual tours through 3D renders of a finished property, allowing them to experience the look and feel of what a finished apartment will be like.

REA Group, owner and operator of realestate.com.au, recognised the potential of online 3D experiences and approached local Melbourne companies Scann3d and BPM to bring this technology to its monthly audience of more than three million visitors.

"Australians live on realestate.com.au so we wanted to bring this experience to the increasing number of people searching for off-the-plan apartments on our site. While 3D and virtual reality technology has been around the property industry for a while, we believe this is the first realistic, self-guided and web-delivered off-the-plan experience, and will change the decision-making process for thousands of people looking to buy these properties in Australia," Mr Dalton said.
