Plans for 73 apartments above two floors of medical centre and retail have been filed for Perth’s north-east.
Developer Perifa is behind the proposal for a 3037sq m site at 16-20 Beechboro Road, South Bayswater, 8.5km from the Perth CBD.
Architects Anthony Vavayis and Associates have designed the nine-storey project.
The apartments would be on the second to eighth floors, the medical centre on the ground and first floors, and a retail component on the ground floor.
Also proposed are 152 carparking bays and 58 bicycle storage spaces across two basement levels and a further 29 bicycle storage spaces on the ground floor.
End-of-trip facilities are planned for the ground and the first floors.
The site has three single-storey buildings, two houses and one office, that would be demolished as part of the plans submitted to DevelopmentWA.
The three allotments that make up the site—16, 18 and 20 Beechboro Road—were acquired from Jeffrey Long and Kevin Long in May of 2021 for $3 million by Myfine Investments Pty Ltd, according to Cotality property records.
Bayswater Train Station is 350m south of the site.
High and medium-density development is being encouraged in Perth suburbs as a foil to suburban sprawl and the burden that it is placing on infrastructure.
