Plans for a two-tower commerical project have been filed for Sydney’s Mascot, home to the city’s airport
The proposal for the buildings, a 12-storey office block and an eight-storey self-storage tower has been submitted by J Squared BCA Consulting and Willow Frank on behalf of the Canal Aviv Trust.
Following the bend of the Alexandra Canal, the site has an area of 8947sq m. The precinct, which includes a rooftop garden on the office block, would be surrounded by an urban park.
If approved by Bayside Council, existing warehouse structures would be demolished. The project has a capital investment value of $45.3 million.
Architects GCCV alongside DesignOffice said it aimed to deliver “buildings which will endure and add to this emerging urban precinct”.
Once approved, the staged build will begin with the storage building on the corner of Ricketty and Venice streets, followed by the commercial building on Venice Street.
Mascot, 7km south of the CBD, contines to be an area of interest for developers thanks to its proximity to the airport—plans were filed earlier this year for an $85-million hotel by Manboom.
