WA Government Releases Portfolio to Market

The Western Australian government has released more than 30 commercial, residential and industrial land opportunities across the state available for development.

The private sector has been invited to invest in major precinct-scale project opportunities aimed to create jobs and boost the Western Australian economy.

LandCorp, the WA government's land and development agency, released the portfolio on Wednesday.

Three lots in the portfolio were highlighted as key investments, with potential for aged care, quality mixed use infill and residential development close to public transport links.

These lots include Shoreline at Cockburn Coast, Claremont on the Park and Parkside Walk in Jolimont -- representing a total value of $122 million.

Western Australia lands minister Rita Saffioti said the 30 transformational projects on offer have the capacity to generate thousands of new jobs for Western Australians.

"In addition, the diverse range of high-quality land lots unveiled today by LandCorp will boost economic growth and create vibrant new communities to support our growing population."Alongside Landcorp's land release, development on the government's Metronet rail extension to Yanchep is expected to open up development opportunities at the Alkimos Central precinct.

"The metropolitan development opportunities located in Murdoch, Alkimos, Claremont and Mandurah will also support and activate the government's Metronet plan to improve public transport infrastructure in WA," Saffioti said.

"Future development opportunities will also become available for major transformational projects such as the Ocean Reef Marina, which will create a thriving new recreation and tourism precinct in Perth's north."Further metropolitan projects, such as the second stage of the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct, extra sites at Parkside Walk in Jolimont, Montario Quarter in Shenton Park and Alkimos are expected to be released to market in 2018.

A wide selection of commercial and industrial lots is also available at 18 of LandCorp's industrial estates across Western Australia.
