SEE Sustainable Experience 2015, to be held from June 18 to 20 at the Brisbane Showgrounds, will bring together industry experts, government representatives, and innovative building companies in an exciting industry expo, combined with educational seminar series.
Australian Living managing director, Cameron Rosen, said while the event had many highlights, the session of most interest to those in the industry will be the Q & A panel on the afternoon of June 19.
“This is a great opportunity for those interested in the future of our built environment to hear from leaders in the field – including representatives from Master Builders Queensland, Lend Lease, HIA, Australian Institute of Architects, Brickworks, Building Designers Association Queensland, and Economic Development Queensland,” Cameron said.
“Facilitated by Mark Thomson from the Australian Green Development Forum, this session is bound to ignite debate and discussion from builders, architects and designers.”
Cameron said the three-day SEE Sustainable Experience is a key event on the Queensland construction calendar – especially as the rising cost of energy, coupled with erratic weather, can present difficulties in the state that is “perfect one day, beautiful the next”.
“These unique challenges become opportunities for those that have the knowledge to create sustainable built environments that go beyond energy consumption and provide healthy spaces in which to live, work, and play,” he said.
[urbanRelatedPost][/urbanRelatedPost]For example, another key presentation at the event will be from the Founder and President of Mythic Paint, a non-toxic, VOC-free paint. There will also be sessions focusing on building materials, sustainable design, insulation, HVAC and more.
And the state’s future industry experts will be showcasing their Built Horizon Project entries, a competition for senior students studying graphic and design and facilitated by Construction Skills Queensland and Building Designers Australia.
