Apartment Fundamentals Strong, But Sentiment ‘Takes a Breath’

Apartments buyers and builders on the east coast are pausing to assess the impacts of interest rates, the Budget changes and global conflict, but the nature of Australian housing hasn’t changed.
Presenting his research at a Charter Keck Cramer event in Sydney on August 18, executive director of research Richard Temlett told attendees that demographic fundamentals were the engine behind a looming build-to-rent boom in that city in particular.
“Sentiment and momentum have taken a breath with the Budget, but there’s a lot of money floating around. A lot of people having to make decisions,” Temlett said
