Calile Hotel Greenlit for Noosa

A render of the new The Calile Noosa resort at 3-7 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads by The Calile Hotel.

The Calile Hotel has won planning approval for its luxury resort just a fortnight after it had filed updated plans with the Noosa Shire Council.

The council approved what will be the Calile’s second luxury resort that is planned for a a 2.4ha site at 3-7 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads, 2km from Hastings Street.

Architects Richards and Spence designed the plans, which include 153 rooms, 29 suites and four three-bedroom villas.

There will be a 50m swimming pool plus a quiet pool in a private garden, wellness facilities and function spaces.

The resort will also be tucked away in bushland.

Originally, the council approved 199 units but that number has decreased to create more retail space.

A rooftop garden to grow produce for the restaurant is also included.

Updated plans for the site were submitted to Noosa Shire Council at the start of October 2024.

Updated plans for the Noosa project were filed in October of this year and follow a two-year public consultation process.

“We worked collaboratively with the Noosa council and finetuned the scheme to ensure we addressed the planning scheme and community expectations,” Calile co-owner Michael Malouf said.

The resort will be named The Calile Noosa. Construction is scheduled for early 2025 and is expected to take three years. Buildcorp is the builder.

Richards and Spence also designed the celebrated Calile Hotel on James Street in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, which has won fame on the world stage, including being named the 25th top hotel in the world and the best in Oceania in the 2024 World’s 50 Best Hotels list.
