“You can’t have it both ways, you can’t have low margins and a high-risk offering, it’s not going to end well for the client or builder.”

Australia’s top construction firm is not crying poor, but Hutchinson Builders is calling for a robust conversation about margins and risk transfer as more tier 2 and 3 builders hit the canvas.

The Urban Developer reported late last week that Victorian homebuilder Mahercorp had called in administrators while liquidators scramble to find a builder to take on collapsed Porter Davis contracts.
