BluePoint Director Files Plans for Next Palm Beach Tower

Plus Architecture designed the building with LDG Landscape Architecture on the landscaping.

Gold Coast developer Geordie Whitcombe is planning another apartment complex at Palm Beach.

The Bluepoint Property director has filed plans with the Gold Coast City Council for a 455sq m block at 1367 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach.

The proposed seven-storey tower would replace a 1980s-era house on the block, one building back from the beach, and almost opposite Twenty Second Avenue.

Whitcombe and wife Brittany own both properties. Planned are just four apartments across the tower, which would be 25.3m high and positioned behind a recently built luxury home.

Plus Architecture has designed the tower, which comprises a carpark and entry on the ground floor, first floor lounge with billiard room, four levels of apartments and a rooftop pool and recreation area.

“All softscape and hardscape elements reinforce the contemporary coastal lifestyle and modern urban living that resonates throughout the Palm Beach area,” the application said.

“The architectural themes proposed for the development have been translated into the landscape design, taking direct and subtle cues that relate to architectural symmetry and the interior layouts.”

Bluepoint Property had a number of residential developments in the area: East Palm Beach, a 34-apartment complex; Seventh Terraces, seven three-storey homes; Sea Palm Beach, 63 apartments on Seventh Avenue; and 77 Jefferson, eight whole-level apartments.

The property market in Palm Beach skyrocketed during and after the pandemic, spurred on by the Gold Coast Light Rail project.

In recent monnths, Graya won approval for its first complex in the surbub, a micro high-rise was revealed by Michael Hovey for Jefferson Lane and a 23-apartment development was recently given the green light.

One of the biggest developments to gain approval in the area was Steer Developments’ $120-million hotel, which got the go-ahead in March.
