The popularity of the Bayside for medium and highrise development continues with another tower added to the pipeline.
Plans submitted to Sydney’s Bayside Council propose a 12-storey apartment building.
The project, designed by TQM Design and Construct, will offer 94 units at 41-51 Duncan Street in Arncliffe, about a 20-minute drive south-west of the NSW capital’s CBD.
Sitting on a site amalgamated from six lots and totalling 3010sq m, the project will deliver 11 one-bedroom, 69 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom apartments.
The $32-million project was submitted by T F R Pty Ltd, a company based in Wollongong, the sole director of whom is listed in ASIC documents as Robert Gizzi.
The site is in the Bayside West priority precinct and urban growth area, as determined by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI).
It is 2.3km west of Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, and about 60m east of the Princes Highway.
The Duncan Street project linked with an approved mixed-use development at 96-102 Princes Highway.
Access between the projects will be available through the proposed basement levels via the driveway at the approved development.
The development application says it is consistent with the zone objectives, and will “enhance the site in providing a high-quality built form outcome and complementary landscape scheme”.
Bayside has experienced a boom in residential projects, with a host of proposals lodged in the past 12 months.
A 10-storey project was submitted in June for Wickham Street while Eloura Developments has submitted adaptive reuse plans for a Rockdale heritage project that would deliver 140 units.
Meanwhile, Bronxx is also planning a 44-unit shoptop development on The Grand Parade back in February.
