and Mirvac have received approval for an upmarket apartment development on the former Coca-Cola headquarters site in Sydney’s Circular Quay.
The $300m redevelopment, located at 71-79 Macquarie Street, was granted approval at concept stage by the NSW Government.
It is understood that the developers have worked closely with the NSW Government and City of Sydney to fulfill the original vision for Circular Quay, including a design competition featuring five leading Australian firms.
The approved concept features a mix of upmarket residential and serviced apartments over 19 levels and ground floor retail, as well as expanded pedestrian areas, a pedestrian walkway from Circular Quay to the Royal Botanic Gardens and Macquarie Street.
The managing director of office and industrial property at AMP Capital, Louise Mason, said the $300 million project “will revitalise an important part of Circular Quay, significantly improving this landmark Sydney space for residents and visitors alike,” Ms Mason said.
The development would "realise the original vision for the East Circular Quay precinct by completing the colonnade that extends along East Circular Quay from the Opera House”.
