64 Zoning Adoptions Across Australia In May To Generate 2,686 Jobs

Blockbrief's Rezoning Adoption Data showed that there was 64 rezoning instrument adoptions across Australia in May 2017 providing additional capacity for up to 7,808 dwelling units and development projects to generate 2,686 jobs nationally.

This capacity can potentially be realised after development applications/planning permits and building applications are approved for the respective land, with an estimated staging average of 2.32 years (Min. 0 years and Max. 20 years).

The capacity of 7,808 dwellings units made available as a result of rezoning adoptions in May 2017 consisted of 6,801 dwellings (87.10%) and 1,727 lots (22.11%).

Looking specifically at the type of rezoning adopted in Australia in May 2017, 25.39% of them were mixed, 15.23% residential, 11.17% special, 8.13% commercial, 4.6% rural and 1.2% industrial.

New South Wales
The 26 rezoning instrument adoptions in New South Wales in May 2017 provide capacity for up to 5,954 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate 2,660 jobs. The estimated staging average is 2.3 years (minimum zero years and maximum 20 years).
Queensland
The two rezoning instrument adoptions in Queensland in May 2017 provide capacity for up to 797 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate two jobs. The estimated staging average is five years (minimum zero years and maximum 10 years).
Victoria
The 12 rezoning instrument adoptions in Victoria in May 2017 provide capacity for up to 56 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate eight jobs. The estimated staging average is 2.25 years (minimum zero years and maximum five years).
Western Australia
The 20 rezoning instrument adoptions in Western Australia in May 2017 provide capacity for up to 941 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate 12 jobs. The estimated staging average is 2.22 years (minimum zero years and maximum 10 years).
South Australia
The 1 rezoning instrument adoption in South Australia in May 2017 provide capacity for over 2 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate over two jobs. The estimated staging average is five years (minimum five years and maximum five years).
Northern Territory
The 1 rezoning instrument adoption in Northern Territory in May 2017 provide no capacity for dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate over two jobs. The estimated staging average is one year (minimum one year and maximum one year).
Australian Capital Territory
The 2 rezoning instrument adoptions in the Australian Capital Territory in April 2017 provide no capacity for dwelling units and no job generating development projects. The estimated staging average is one year (minimum one year and maximum one year).
