Urban Property Group’s plans to build Newcastle’s tallest tower have moved forward after being declared a state significant project by the Housing Delivery Authority.
The shovel-ready, 38-storey plans comprise 280 apartments, ground-floor retail, a hotel across the podium and basement parking. Fifteen per cent of the homes will be affordable.
Builder-developer GWH topped out Newcastle’s current tallest tower at 22-storeys at 1 National Park Street in April but that is expected to be overtaken by Thirdi’s Dairy Farmers north tower at 30 storeys this year.
