Plans to transform Parramatta into “Australia’s next great city” have taken a significant leap forward.

Developer Walker Corporation has secured a tender to develop the largest stages of the $2 billion Parramatta Square redevelopment project.

The mixed-use project is one of the largest urban renewal projects in the country, which at completion will transform the heart of the Parramatta CBD into a major commercial and residential precinct. The three hectare site will be home to six new state of the art mixed use buildings - including the tallest residential building in Sydney - and more than 20,000 sqm of public space.

The Aspire Tower

The proposed mixed use Aspire Tower will feature up to 700 apartments, a hotel and ground level retail.

Stages 5 and 6

These two stages will comprise of dual commercial towers offering A-grade office space with flexible floor plates. The ground floor podium will feature more than 3,000 sqm of retail space over two levels, with the lower ground level providing a crucial underground link to the Parramatta railway station.

Work on all stages will commence next month when the sites are handed over to the Walker Corporation. Development applications for stages 2, 5 and 6 will be lodged before the end of the year.

The changing face of Parramatta

The Parramatta Square redevelopment project is one of a number of major developments that are transforming the growing city of Parramatta.
