The third annual The Urban Developer Awards, in association with Construction Industry Solutions (COINS), recognises standout property industry performers from across Australasia.

The awards program is a little different this year: delivered digitally, with the previously held black-tie gala dinner replaced with our extended virtual celebration, Winners’ Month.

Today, we celebrate Excellence in Commercial Innovation proudly presented by EG.

This award recognises commercial innovation that provides an alternate solution to the way that business is conducted—new business models, deal structures, financial products or organisational, corporate and legal structures.

The finalists for Excellence in Commercial Innovation are:

  • Sentinel Real Estate Corporation's Build-to-Rent Platform Sentinel Real Estate Corporation

  • Sally™ by Network Pacific
    Network Pacific

  • COVID-19 Business Impact Tracker
    Brickfields Consulting

  • Gigafy
    Gigafy

And the winner is...

About this project

The “Sally” app solves many of the challenges of medium and high-density living, by monitoring buildings via on-site CCTV cameras from live screens in a central control room.

Custom-designed using input from strata, real estate and maintenance teams to achieve the best features and results, “Sally” provides all the benefits of an onsite concierge service at a fraction of the cost.

Instantaneous communication allows for real time notifications to all residents, owners and stakeholders, eliminating the need for emails and correspondence between agents, owners corporations and clients, creating a more effective and efficient service.

Project details

  • Central repository for all building information and documentation.

  • Monitoring and directing deliveries.

  • Controlling building and car park access for couriers, tradespersons and visitors via on-site live touch screen kiosks that interact directly with the central control room, bluetooth remote-activated door locks and car park number plate recognition .

  • Monitoring essential services such as elevators and hot water services. “Sally” notifies all occupants if an issue with a service arises and coordinates the prompt repair.

A word from the winner...

“Each building that is contracted is essentially set up with a fully integrated security and access control system that we provide,” Network Pacific's Robert Di Natale said.

“The two main benefits [of the app] are security and communication.”

“Security in the sense that the building is monitored 24-hours a day and ease of communication [between] the strata manager, real estate agents or property managers working within the building, the owners corporation and tenants, and the way they access information.”

“[Throughout the pandemic] it's been fantastic as we've been able to provide those concierge and building management services without putting anybody at risk of transmission, as we are essentially off-site.”
