Sydney Development Giving First Home Buyers First Dibs

m

A Sydney apartment development is giving first home buyers the chance to purchase off-the-plan properties before anyone else has even seen them.

In a unique scheme, buyers looking at The Eden in Greenacre, will have the first opportunity to buy the 47 apartments and townhouses before any other types of buyers.

These buyers would get one day to themselves to purchase apartments ahead of investors and other owner-occupiers who traditionally have deeper pockets. Speaking to Domain News, CPM Realty agent Sam Elbanna said for buyers to be eligible they must be willing to sign a statutory declaration saying they have never purchased property before.

"The reason we're doing it is because we think it works, it levels the playing field for first home buyers, and gives them a chance," Mr Elbanna said.
