Approved BtR Tower Will Overshadow Alan Bond’s Observation City in Perth

A $130-million build-to-rent tower that will literally and figuratively overshadow the landmark Observation City hotel developed by Alan Bond in the 1980s has been unanimously approved for Perth’s Scarborough Beach.

Planned for a 3035sq m site at 200 West Coast Highway, the Western Australian Planning Commission’s statutory committee on September 23 waved the planned 26-storey BtR project through.

Committee member Sean Morrison, who moved that the project be approved, said it had “achieved a very high-standard level of design”.
