Rise Projects has submitted plans to develop a nine-building complex of 282 apartments on the North Coast of New South Wales.
In what appears to be its biggest project to date, Rise submitted a concept development application to Kempsey Shire Council in the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.
The “amenity rich, upscale community” Rise is developing will feature a mix of residential and retail, permitted within the medium-density residential zoning of the area.
With a capital investment value of $127 million, the development has gone to the Northern Regional Planning Panel for approval.
The newly lodged plans will develop a 4.82ha vacant greenfield site at Phillip Drive.
Rise will develop the complex in stages, with the first recently approved townhouse development next to the site already approved.
Stage 2 will deliver four residential buildings up to five storeys of 108 units, with a mix of one to four bedroom-apartments.
Of those, 10 per cent by gross floor area will be affordable.
The second tranche of five buildings of up to six storeys will contain 175 residential and services apartments as well as retail outlets.
The concept approval seeks to secure the building envelopes and maximum building heights, as well as nearly 600 carparking spaces.
Part of the Macleay Valley Coast, which attracts around 700,000 visitors a year, the nearest major town is Kempsey 27km away.
The subject site is 1.7km from the main centre of South West Rocks, which has a population of about 6000.
Developers have been increasingly turning their attention to coastal New South Wales towns as Sydney remains saturated and, last week, Winim lodged plans for a shoptop residential development in the south coast town of Gerringong.
