Eight-Tower Plan Lodged in Decade-Long Preston Market Saga

Preston Market’s owners have long argued that housing is the only way to pay for the iconic market’s renewal.

The Medich family’s new plan for about 900 apartments in eight towers now puts that case before Victorian planning minister Sonya Kilkenny.

Towers of eight to 16 storeys would sit above a podium of retail and parking space. Ten per cent of the apartments would be affordable housing.
