Modern Construction will build a Sutherland shire development with a focus on oversized sky homes and home offices, as the new-normal way of living transforms the urban environment.
The approved application from the builder-developer included 53 apartments across two six-storey buildings at 68 Glencoe Street, Sutherland.
The project to be called Eterna Sutherland was designed by north Sydney architects Krikis Taylor who created the contemporary residential buildings with rooftop gardens on a sculpturally carved L-shape block.
The largest apartments feature four-bedrooms, four-bathrooms and three car spaces.
Meanwhile more than half of the one and two-bedroom apartments have study rooms geared towards modern work demands providing versatile options for buyers.
Modern Construction senior development manager Tony Pizzalato said the project reflects the needs of first home buyers and downsizers.
“It’s a unique, boutique apartment building, centrally located close to Sutherland village, the train station and close amenities that everyone loves; the beaches, national parks and waterways,” Pizzalato said.
“I think with Covid a lot of lifestyles are changing, working from home will be here with us for quite a long time whether that be one or two days a week.
“It’s great when people can have a bigger apartment where they can work or study easily and not disturb the rest of the family.”
Eterna Sutherland would be Modern Construction’s first project within the shire and twenty fourth development, it follows on from successful projects in Kogarah, Alexandria and St Leonards.
“We have got very experienced people behind us, they have the luxury of being able to develop and build our product,” Pizzalato said.
“People have bought hundreds and hundreds of our apartments over the past two decades.
“Modern has a good reputation of being a developer-builder and being able to deliver the whole package from the start, to handing over the keys to the lucky clients.”
The company which was founded by engineers, continues to be operated by two local Sydney families with strong foundations in the industry.
