KDL’s $158m Regent Quarter Site Approved

The first eight stages of a new 327-lot greenfield development have been greenlit for the Moreton Bay region in south-east Queensland.

KDL Property Group’s $158-million Regent Quarter has been given the go-ahead at Joyner, about 30km north of the Brisbane CBD, with an initial 209 lots being given approval.

The developer has also recently launched 15 lots in the first stage of ‘Avaline’—a $106 million mixed-use residential community, which was greenlit last year, comprising 188 lots, a medical precinct and childcare centre at Burpengary East on Brisbane’s bayside.

KDL managing director Kent Leicester said the Joyner project had been two years in the making.

“Considering there has been so much concern about the lack of housing and new residential developments in recent times, it’s fantastic for KDL to have these two projects on the move on Brisbane’s northside,” Leicester said.

“As KDL Property Group’s first residential estate in Joyner, we’re thrilled to be bringing our expertise to this growing community.

“It’s situated in a prime growth corridor that offers both convenience and tranquility,” he said.

“The development has 5.75ha of open space and preserved koala habitat area maintained, including linkages to promote safe koala movement.

“We’re proud to be a part of the Joyner community and are committed to providing a high-quality residential estate that meets the needs of our future residents. Civil construction at Regent Quarter is due to start later this year and we will be eager to share progress as we move forward.”

Regent Quarter would also include a commercial hub, childcare centre and adjoining swim school.

Lot sizes will range from 352 sq m to 681 sq m set amongst natural surroundings.

Leicester said the estate would be ideal for families due to its closeness to good schools, shopping centres and Lake Samsonvale.

KDL now has three residential estates on Brisbane’s northside after the successful development of the $25-million Dakota estate at Burpengary East, where home building is completed on most of the 70 blocks.

Earlier this year a development blueprint for one of Queensland’s largest greenfield growth areas was approved, paving the way for fast-tracked assessment and approval of 13,000 homes.

The Caboolture West Interim Structure Plan gives the green light for the first stages of the creation of a new suburb the size of Rockhampton—the Sunshine State’s fourth largest city.

Encompassing a total of 3480ha about 50km north of Brisbane, it is forecast Caboolture West will grow to about 30,000 new homes and a community of at least 70,000 people during the next 40 years.
