A new apartment development inspired by a heritage advertising sign, Ari Apartments, has been unveiled in Hawthorn, Melbourne.
Developed by Ingrid Wilson, the boutique Ari Apartments at 729 Burwood Road, Hawthorn East offer nine apartments.
OLA Studio decided to celebrate Hawthorne's history in the design after early demolition works revealed a 120-year-old painted advertising sign. The firm reconfigured its design so the sign could be incorporated into a feature piece of art for the project’s new residents.
Apartments in the development all have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one car space. Apartment sizes range from 74-87 sqm and prices range from $595,000 to $780,000.
OLA Studio has entered the design into the ArchiTeam Awards under the Residential (New) category.
