Goodman Group Files Plans for Clayton Business Park

Goodman Group's existing warehouse and office space on the site of the planned Clayton Business Park in Melbourne's southeastern suburbs.

Global development firm Goodman Group has filed plans with the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning to redevelop one of its own sites in Clayton South, south-east of Melbourne.

The site at 1508 Centre Road has 145,883sq m of warehousing and office space and is listed on Goodman Group’s list of properties for lease.

Goodman has filed plans by Group GSA to demolish many of the warehouses on the site and redevelop it into a business park with four main precincts.

Precinct 1 will have 30,167sq m of office and industrial space, Precinct 2 will have 31,521sq m, Precinct 3  26,415 sq m and Precinct 4 will have 27,576 square metres.

There would also be a cafe.

There are three warehouse spaces for Precinct 1, five warehouse spaces for Precinct 2, five warehouse spaces for Precinct 3 with end-of-trip facilities, and eight warehouse spaces for Precinct 4.

The total gross floor area would be 115,678 square metres.

Clayton Business Park is near the Eastlink, Monash Freeway, Princes Highway and the Westall Train Station.

Goodman Group has also begun building a project at Truganina.

That project at the RBR Hub will be a 65,700sq m development on a 11ha site—an automated distribution centre for Super Retail Group.

Super Retail Group owns Supercheap Auto, Rebel Sport, BCF and Macpac.

It will replace two older distribution centres with a sustainable design incorporated, including electric-vehicle charging bays, solar panels and rainwater storage.

Construction was to start this month and is expected to be completed in 2025.

It is estimated to cost more than $275 million and that 850 jobs will be  during construction.

The RBR Hub site has signed Metcash and Provincial Home Living as tenants so far.
