Work Begins on $160m Luxury Tower in Broadbeach

Foundation works are well advanced on the luxury Amaya project on the Gold Coast.

Amaya will rise 33 storeys on 1214sq m at 30 First Avenue, Broadbeach, and comprises 120 apartments.

Designed by Gold Coast-based architects DBI Design, the $160-million Amaya comprises two and three-bedroom homes with floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the water and hinterland views, and balconies.

The site is close to the beach, Nerang river, restaurants, shops and a G:link light-rail station.

Amaya’s two-bedroom apartments provide 100-101sq m of living space, while the three-bedroom layouts spread to 148-151 square metres. The designwas revised to include a number of half-floor homes of 252 square metres.

Included over two floors will be a gym, sauna, steam room, pool, spa, barbecue, and patio.

Amalgamated Property Group has completed more than $3.8 billion in residential and commercial developments across Australia since 2002.

Further down the coast at Coolangatta, earthworks have begun on Rockpool Rainbow Bay by developer and designer Joe Adsett Architects.

The $100-million 13-floor oceanfront development would feature 21 homes with ocean views at 154-156 Marine Parade, near Snapper Rocks beaches, the project team said.

Tomkins Commercial is the builder and the completion date is yet to be confirmed.

The tower's three full-floor penthouses feature five bedrooms and 5½ bathrooms over 520 square metres.

The remaining 18 apartments will comprise three, four, and five bedrooms over 245-512sq m and the building amenities include a heated lap pool, sauna, gymnasium, beach lockers, and private office spaces.

Also on the Gold Coast news, developer David Devine’s 24-storey luxury high-rise proposed for North Burleigh is poised to get under way after winning approval from the Gold Coast City Council.

The $430-million tower, dubbed Burly, being developed by Devine’s DD Living will rise from a prominent 2024sq m site at 264-268 The Esplanade.

The tower designed by Koichi Takada Architects comprises 101 two, three and three-bedroom plus multi-purpose room apartments, and four-bedroom penthouses.
