Fundraiser to Support Drought Affected Communities

ee9c0032-0842-4060-8991-f166192b3ad6

Australia is currently battling through one of the worst droughts in its history.

The current crisis is likely to be the worst in more than 100 years, forcing farmers to do anything they can to keep their crops and livestock from dying.

In states like New South Wales, approximately 99 per cent of farmers are not producing enough food to feed animals, and are having to spend $75,000 on one trailer of hay, in a desperate attempt to sustain them.

After hearing about the devastation, heartache and pain the drought has caused for our Australian farmers, we decided it was time to step up and do something to help.

Ash Bramich and Ant Bray have teamed up to host a charity event at Canvas House on Friday, 21 September.

We have currently sold 200 tickets to some of Melbourne’s largest media companies and property developers, who will be coming together to raise money for the cause.

The day will include a silent auction. We will also be hearing first hand from three farming families on the crippling affect the drought is having on them, their stock and livelihoods.

Glenvill sales and marketing director Ashley Bramich said that he felt compelled to do something after witnessing what our drought-stricken farmers are going through on television.

“The devastation is real. Farmers are being forced to sell their homes, kill their cattle, or spend all of their life savings in an attempt to survive,” Bramich said.

“You can’t watch something like that and not want to help. Hopefully this event will raise a sufficient amount of money to help farmers pay part of the massive cost of keeping their animals alive.”

Tomorrow Agency managing director Anthony Bray saw the event as an opportunity to band together with other businesses in the media and property industry, and give back to such an imperative cause.

“When Ash approached me about assisting with the event, I knew I had to throw my hat in the ring and get involved,” Bray said.

“I also knew that the media and developer industries would be more than happy to help, so this event is really an opportunity to show our Australian farmers that we support them, and are doing what we can to help ease the load of the current drought crisis.”

A big thank you to Domain Group for being a major sponsor of the event, and to all the other companies who have donated thus far.

Although the event is sold out, we are still looking for more donations.

If you would like to help out, contact Ash Bramich on 0411 022 222 or Anthony Bray on 0407 850 603, and remember that no donation is too small when it comes to helping our farmers in need.

The Urban Developer is proud to partner with Glenvill & Tomorrow Agency in support of this fundraiser for drought affected communities across Australia.
