Leading real estate professional Rhys Harvey is to relocate from Singapore to Sydney to take on the role of Deputy Managing Director of CBRE’s Global Corporate Services business in Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Harvey presently heads CBRE’s Global Corporate Services business in South East Asia. He will be relocating to Australia in February to take up the new Pacific role and will also assume responsibility for CBRE’s Global Corporate Services operations in New South Wales.
The appointment follows the recent announcement that Chris Hynes would be taking over the leadership of CBRE’s Global Corporate Services business in Pacific early next year following the retirement of Peter Messenger after 35 years in the industry.
CBRE President & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Tom Southern said Mr. Harvey would work closely with Mr. Hynes to maintain and build upon the market leading position of CBRE’s corporate services business.
“Rhys is originally from New Zealand and this role gives him the opportunity to return to Pacific with his young family and further build on the outstanding contributions he has made to our business in Asia,” Mr. Southern said.
“Rhys has an exceptional track record, with 17 years’ experience providing real estate consultancy services to a long list of blue chip multi-national corporations in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. This experience will add further strength to our Pacific platform as our clients take an increasingly regional approach to their corporate real estate requirements.”
The Global Corporate Services leadership role in South East Asia will be assumed by leading corporate real estate professional Hugh Hamilton. Mr Hamilton has over 20 years’ experience in the real estate industry and was most recently Senior Director and Head of Occupier Services for DTZ in Asia Pacific.
