Six months into a new leadership chapter, BridgeFab is building strong momentum across the market, with enquiries doubling from South-East Queensland builders as the business sharpens its focus on customer relationships, early project involvement and delivery certainty.

Led by Mick Major, BridgeFab is experiencing growth across commercial, industrial, education, residential and architectural sectors, reflecting increasing demand for steel partners that can provide both technical expertise and certainty of delivery.

“The biggest change has been getting closer to our customers,” Major said. “When we’re involved earlier, we can solve problems before they become issues, improve coordination and ultimately deliver better outcomes for everyone involved.”

A structural steel boilermaker by trade, Major brings a practical understanding of the full steel lifecycle, from drafting and detailing through to fabrication, installation and site delivery.

That experience is shaping BridgeFab’s next phase, with a stronger emphasis on long-term relationships, clear communication and shared accountability.

In an industry where steel fabricators are often engaged late in the process, BridgeFab is increasingly being brought into projects earlier to help improve buildability, co-ordination and overall outcomes, working alongside clients to solve challenges before they affect program, cost or quality.

▲ New general manager Mick Major has a simple theory: get steel right at the start. Six months in, enquiries have doubled.

The growth is also reinforcing demand for responsive, local South-East Queensland fabrication partners who can move quickly, solve complex challenges and work closely with project teams.

BridgeFab has built a reputation across structural steel, architectural metalwork and bespoke fabrication projects, where flexibility, service and delivery certainty are critical to project success.

BridgeFab’s end-to-end capability

With in-house drafting, detailing, fabrication and installation, the business maintains control throughout the steel process, reducing delays, minimising rework and ensuring fabrication aligns seamlessly with site requirements.

The result is greater certainty for builders, developers and project managers operating in increasingly complex construction environments.

That capability is supported by continued investment in technology, including CNC plasma cutting, robotics, 3D scanning and advanced 3D modelling.

This enables the team to deliver highly accurate fabrication solutions across both large-scale structural packages and highly customised architectural steelwork.

As the business grows, BridgeFab is continuing to expand automation, digital modelling integration and robotics-assisted fabrication to improve consistency, increase capacity and reduce reliance on manual processes.

“Our industry is changing quickly and we’re investing accordingly,” Major said. “We’re combining skilled people with technology and automation to improve quality, increase efficiency and give our clients greater certainty around delivery.”

Sustainability another point of difference

For the third consecutive year, BridgeFab has achieved Level 3 Sustainability Certification from Steel Sustainability Australia, the highest rating available under the program.

For builders delivering Green Star projects, BridgeFab can provide Responsible Product Values that contribute towards Responsible Credits, helping projects meet increasingly important sustainability requirements.

BridgeFab is part of Supplyhaus, providing strong financial backing, access to advanced technology and offshore steel capability, and ongoing investment in innovation and growth, meaning no steel project is too big or too complex for BridgeFab to deliver.

While benefiting from the support of a broader integrated business, BridgeFab focuses on what it does best: delivering specialist steel fabrication and metalwork solutions through strong relationships, responsive service and dependable project delivery.

BridgeFab team
▲ From detailing to installation, BridgeFab keeps steel in-house, reducing rework risk for builders and developers.

“The opportunity ahead of us is significant,” Major said. “We’ve got a great team, strong capability and a strong pipeline of opportunities.

“Our focus is on building long-term relationships, delivering on our commitments and becoming the partner clients want to work with again and again.”

With a growing pipeline, increasing market interest and a clear focus on customer outcomes, BridgeFab is well positioned for its next phase of growth.
